London, UK – 30 December 2025

Lyfeguard was featured on BBC’s Morning Live on 11 December 2025 as part of a segment led by finance expert Iona Bain, which explored the challenges of digital succession planning and how people can prepare essential information for loved ones.

The segment opened with new research showing just how unprepared many people are when it comes to their digital legacy.

Iona Bain said:

“According to YouGov, over half of the population, 57%, say they’ve made no plans for passing on their digital details in the event of their death.”

The segment also included insight from solicitor Richard Marshall, who highlighted how the rapid move to digital services has made it harder for families to understand what their loved ones owned or how to access it.

Richard Marshall said:

"The ease at which we can now change bank accounts and switch utility providers is great from a convenience perspective, but we lose the breadcrumb trail of what people actually own."

As the discussion turned to solutions, Bain highlighted the role technology can play in helping people get digitally prepared. This included platforms designed to organise, store and securely share essential information with trusted loved ones.

Iona Bain said:

"A number of tech platforms are aiming to ease the burden of finding and accessing all of those online accounts."

Lyfeguard appeared in this section as part of a wider movement of platforms focused on helping people take practical and proactive steps to protect those they leave behind.
